MSA is recruiting for the following 2017 positions:
1) INSTRUCTOR/: 21/over; strong swimmer / able to swim 500 yards nonstop; able to lift 40 pounds. Experience working with youth or camps is a bonus, but not required.
Pay is $68 per day. $23.20 per day is deducted for food and housing expenses provided by MSA.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/experience in a science or education related field is preferred but not necessary. Most important is the desire to work with youth in the environment. This position requires lifeguard and CPR certification, which is provided during
staff training. A physical fitness test will be given with the following requirements: ability to swim at least 350 yards without stopping, retrieve a 10 pound brick from a depth of 8', tow a kayaker for a distance of 250 yards, and be able to lift 40 pounds.
High moral character, ability to exercise good judgment and willingness to work with flexibility as part of a team is essential.
Instructors will teach a wide array of topics that include marine biology, astronomy, ecology, natural history, physics, and survival skills. Activities include kayaking, snorkeling (day and night), hiking, high ropes, devotions, skit night, and other educational
activities and games. Instructors receive training in all required subjects, as well as how to convey the material in an engaging manner to children. In addition to the above mentioned responsibilities, instructors will attend a weekly staff meeting. They
will also assist with some basic camp program maintenance such as preparing for and cleaning up after labs, assisting with meal clean up, boat upkeep, and other duties pertinent to the operations of a smooth program.
